Orr was engaged by APTA, prior to purchasing land, as the development manager for their new headquarters — the APTA Centennial Center, a seven-story, 102,610 SF boutique, class-A office building. The Center features a one-of-a-kind atrium that extends the full height of the building enclosed by an exterior glass façade with Potomac River views. The elevator lobbies on each floor overlook the atrium to create interior balconies. Additionally, an open staircase stretches up through the atrium from the lobby to the top, connecting each floor. Notable building amenities include a bike storage cafe, public plaza, rooftop terrace, and fitness center. Since its completion during the 2020 pandemic, this unique office building has won four awards for design, construction and user experience.
