Orr Partners developed this mixed-use project that includes 366 residential units with 80,000 SF of retail space anchored by Harris Teeter to replace the site’s previous grocery store. This is a six-story structure over concrete podium with three floors of below grade parking and a spacious public plaza. Due to the site’s large grade change, supports for excavation were built along two faces with 80-foot foundation walls constructed as permanent retaining walls. With three adjacent neighborhoods, Orr was diligent in communicating and mitigating community construction impacts.
