Orr was the project manager for the addition to the existing 9A/9B Building for a new Virginia and Columbia Class submarine production facility. The project includes three production bays with 25,000 SF for support mezzanines and office/IT space. The bays include 10 bridge cranes, including a 240-foot, 65-ton crane. Orr ensured minimal disruptions on the active shipyard campus, which included the demolition of Building 9B’s existing exterior wall during active production in that building. Orr also assisted in finding solutions to the IT design and connectivity challenges.
